ST. LUKE

t. Luke is represented by the ox at the top and is sometimes explained by reference to temple sacrifice at the beginning of his gospel.  In the middle he holds an ax.  The lower panel shows the sacrament of marriage.  It's interesting to note that women figure more prominently in Luke's gospel than in any of the others gospels.
